Tiger Woods will play in his first PGA Tour event in seven months at the Genesis Invitational.

Tiger Woods will play in his first PGA Tour event in seven months next week at the Genesis Invitational in San Diego.

Woods, who will host the Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines, was included in the lineup released by the organizers on Friday. The event starts on February 13.

The 15-time major winner last played on the Tour in July when he missed the cut at The Open. He had back surgery in September, adding to a long list of problems he has faced in his career.

In December, Woods told reporters that he still has a lot of progress to make before he can compete in golf again. He mentioned that his body doesn’t heal as well as it used to.

This will be Woods’ first event on the PGA Tour this year, but he has been active in the new Tomorrow’s Golf League (TGL), a technology-focused golf tournament held in a stadium that he started with Rory McIlroy.

In December, he played in the unofficial PNC Championship with his son Charlie, and they almost won, finishing in second place after a playoff against Bernhard and Jason Langer.

The Genesis Invitational usually takes place at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, but this year it will be held at Torrey Pines because the Los Angeles area is still recovering from serious wildfires.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and No. 3 Rory McIlroy are both part of the 72-player list for the Genesis Invitational.

Woods, who has won 82 times on the PGA Tour, has won the Farmers Insurance Open seven times at Torrey Pines and also won the US Open there in 2008. His last Tour win was at the 2019 Zozo Championship in Japan.
