18 people are hurt when a Delta plane landing at Toronto Airport flips over.

A Delta Air Lines plane crashed at Toronto Pearson International Airport, causing at least 18 injuries, as seen in a social media video

Officials said Monday evening that no one died and most of the injuries were not too bad.

A strange scene was shown on social media and on TV from the airport: the plane was fully upside down while emergency workers helped people get off and fixed the crash site.

In a statement, the Federal Aviation Administration said that around 2:15 p.m., Delta Air Lines Flight 4819, which was coming from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and was being flown by Endeavor Air, crashed in Toronto while landing. It was said by Delta that Endeavor is a “wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines headquartered in Minneapolis.”

The FAA said there were 80 people on the CRJ-900 plane. Delta said there were 76 people on board and 4 crew members.

Toronto Pearson airport experienced a ground delay due to an aircraft emergency, lasting an average of 292 minutes. Delta has canceled all flights for Monday night and provided travel waivers to customers. The airport experienced snow all day, with no snow recorded or visible on radars.

There were 20 to 30 mph winds, with gusts up to 40 mph, at the time of the crash.

The temperature was 18 degrees with a windchill of -2 degrees as the people were being let out of the plane.

A union for flight attendants said on social media that it was responding to the event and that some of its members were working on the flight.

The FAA says that the Transportation Safety Board of Canada will look into it. The TSB stated on X that it will send a team to look into the matter.

The National Transportation Safety Board said it would help the Canadian Transportation Safety Board with its probe.

Chief of Transportation Sean Duffy said that FAA inspectors are on their way to Toronto and that he has talked to his Canadian counterpart about how they can help with the investigation.
