Warriors and Knicks are the most valuable NBA teams according to CNBC for 2025.

During the 2023–24 season, Golden State made the most money in the NBA, $781 million.

The average NBA team is worth $4.66 billion, according to the official NBA estimates from CNBC Sport. It’s worth about the same as an average NFL team, which is $6.49 billion, and about the same as an average NHL team, which is $1.92 billion.

They are worth $9.4 billion, making them the most expensive NBA team. After taking out their revenue-sharing payment, the Warriors made the most money in the NBA that season ($781 million). The Warriors own their home stadium, the Chase Center in San Francisco. They also make money from events that aren’t NBA games there. A league official said that the team made almost $200 million in sponsorship money last season, which was almost twice as much as any other team.

The Warriors’ value has grown at a rate of 24% per year since Joe Lacob and Peter Guber bought the team for $450 million in 2010. This may not come as a surprise. Still, the Grizzlies’ value has grown at a rate of 19% per year since Pera bought them for $377 million in 2012.

According to team executives, the biggest reason why NBA values have been going up is that the league’s 30 teams now have equal shares of the national TV rights. The NBA agreed in July to a new TV rights deal worth $76 billion over 11 years, starting with the 2025–26 season. The new deal is worth $6.9 billion a year on average, which is almost 160% more than the old deal.
